I was thinking about whimsicott and beat up and thought it would be really cool to use beat up on a weakness policy dragapult, so here we are! I’m sure this has been done before but I thought it might be good.

Cobalion @ Assault Vest
Ability: Justified
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Close Combat
- Bounce
- Megahorn

Standard Cobalion set. I like max bug for psyspam but I think stone edge could be good for weather (max rock into torkoal + prankster taunting venusaur could be good. Worst case venusaur uses max fire/ground, but Cobalion is assault best so it shouldn’t be too bad.

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Beat Up
- Tailwind
- Taunt
- Moonblast

The centerpiece of the team, beat up is to proc weakness policy dragapult and boost Cobalion, tailwind is for speed control because Rillaboom/ Urshifu/ Togekiss are all kind of mid speed, taunt is for trick room/support and sleep threats, and moonblast is in case of opposing taunts.

Togekiss @ Scope Lens
Ability: Super Luck
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Air Slash
- Follow Me
- Protect

Togekiss is a Pokémon that benefits from tailwind, plus redirection is very important in VGC. Just a standard set.

Dragapult @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Clear Body
Level: 50
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force
- Fly
- Protect

Dragapult was where this team started. EV’d to underspeed whimsicott by 1 for beat up. I’ve thought about replacing fly for dive/steel wing, or maybe even a special variant.

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike-Gmax @ Expert Belt
Ability: Unseen Fist
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Thunder Punch
- Detect

I thought that Urshifu would be ridiculous in tailwind because I ran some calcs and:

252+ Atk Expert Belt Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dynamax Cinderace on a critical hit: 627-741 (104.1 - 123%) -- guaranteed OHKO

You’ll definitely move before in tailwind unless your opponent has their own tailwind/quash, so the amount of offensive pressure this thing exerts is crazy. Thunder Punch hits Togekiss/bulky waters. Now that I think about it, Dracovish would probably do the same.

Rillaboom-Gmax @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Grassy Surge
Level: 50
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 20 SpD / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Fake Out
- High Horsepower
- Knock Off

Finally, Rillaboom. To be honest, I kind of just threw it on and am open to suggestions for replacement.

This team has many weaknesses, particularly trick room and the many repeat typings, so any and all feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

U forgot the additional 4 evs on whimscott. (Put it in defense for a little more bulk.)
Oops! Thank you!
Give me a perspective on what the current team struggles with.
Trick Room is annoying, as are Porygon-Z teams. Other Whimsicott teams are also bad because Dragapult has to be slower than it and therefore Cinderace/Opposing Dragapult.

Your first three Pokemon are fine unless you want to give Cobalion Stone Edge. (I prefer it to counter Cinderace)

Next off you would want Single Strike Urshifu to counter Psyspam and not get one shot by Rillaboom.

Urshifu-Gmax @ Choice Scarf/Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature/Jolly Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat
- Sucker Punch
- Protect/Detect

Standard Urshifu set.

Because of your lack of special attackers, I'd use a special Dragapult set.

Dragapult @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Infiltrator
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Beat Up
- Ally Switch/Protect/Light Screen/Reflect/Will-o-Wisp

If you want, you can use Beat Up from Whimscott when you switch into Dragapult so you don't need to underspeed Cinderace and opposing Dragapult.

According to Pikalitics, Rillaboom is the recommended pick, but I'd use Lapras for screens and a decent damage dealer.

Lapras-Gmax @ Life Orb
Ability: Shell Armor
Level: 50
EVs: 28 HP / 84 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard/Freeze Dry/Ice Beam
- Thunder/Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Protect

I used the Juan Borreguero's mono water Lapras set.

Thanks for the advice! You have some very good points. Stone edge is probably better, I REALLY like Hyper-Offensive Lapras and Whimsicott for the ability to outspeed + OHKO Dynamax Cinderace and Dragapult, and I also think that special Dragapult might be good. I think that Ally Switch on Dragapult greatly improves Porygon-Z matchups as well. I personally don't like Dark Urshifu as a PsySpam counter, though, as Alakazam usually and Hatterene definitely carry dazzling gleam. I've been testing Indeedee-Male and it's been pretty nice as it's also a trick room counter, so I might keep Dragapult as physical if I'm taking off Urshifu. Thanks again!
Thanks!

Edit: I would run Focus Sash on Urshifu but you have it on Whimsicott. You COULD run Coda Berry on Whimsicott and Focus Sash Urshifu.
