The AGCL7 core is Groudon + Grimmsnarl, which is very much different from previous cores and is the first one to be Hyper Offensive.
So let's start the team:
Dual Screener and Suicide Lead
Grimmsnarl (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Taunt
- Spirit Break
Light Screen and Reflect setter, along with punishing other Stealth Rocks and hazard setters with Taunt. Spirit Break hits opposing Grimmsnarl and other dark-types which are immune to Prankster Taunt, notably Yveltal which can Defog away your screens. Maximum Physical Defense allows it to tank a Behemoth Blade behind Reflect.
Double Dance Physical sweeper
Groudon @ Life Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Aerial Ace
- Precipice Blades
- Stone Edge
Double Dance Groudon that utilizes Max Airstream over Rock Polish. Swords Dance to boost Atk greatly, while Aerial Ace becomes Max Airstream which is much better than Rock Polish since you take 2 turns to set-up, but in this case you can do damage while increasing Spe. Stone Edge hits Yveltal, Ho-Oh notably for super-effective damage. Life Orb allows a +2 Max Quake to OHKO Max Defense Giratina and Zygarde-50% un-Dynamaxed. Jolly Nature allows to outspeed Calyrex-S and all other slower Pokemon along with speed-tieing with Timid Scarf Kyogre at +1. Groudon works greatly under screens where it can tank almost every hit at 100% while setting-up Swords Dance then Dynamaxing next-turn.
Revenge Killer + Choice Band breaker
Marshadow @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Poltergeist
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Shadow Sneak
Choice Band Marshadow's prowess as a breaker is great. Ghost+Fighting are unresisted STAB, so a 383 Atk with Choice Band boosted STAB move will hit with ridiculously high damage. Specially Defensive Yveltal takes more than 30% from Poltergeist. Necrozma Dusk Mane is 2OHKOed the same way at maximum defense. Shadow Sneak's priority and hits Calyrex-Shadow hard. Ice Punch's a guaranteed OHKO on base forme Zygarde with Choice Band. Calculations are important to see once.
252+ Atk Choice Band Marshadow Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Yveltal: 364-430 (92.6 - 109.4%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO (assuming it has Sucker Punch)
252+ Atk Choice Band Marshadow Poltergeist (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: 262-310 (65.8 - 77.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Marshadow Poltergeist (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eternatus: 300-354 (61.9 - 73.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
Second Revenge Killer + Scarfer
Kyurem-White @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 40 SpD / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Flare
- Freeze-Dry
- Draco Meteor
It's used to outspeed Kyogre and something Calyrex-S can Baton Pass to. Ice Beam is STAB while Fusion Flare hits steel-types hard. Draco Meteor lowers SpA but has great power. This allows me to revenge kill Base 90 Scarfers and other things at +1.
Physical breaker
Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Close Combat
- Behemoth Blade
- Agility
Weird set there, but it works great vs other HO. Play Rough hits dragon-types, Close Combat for Dusk Mane while Behemoth Blade is STAB and hits hard. Agility means Calyrex-S or Scarf Kyogre can't revenge kill you.
Baton Passer
Calyrex-Shadow @ Focus Sash
Ability: As One (Spectrier)
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Astral Barrage
- Baton Pass
- Psyshock
- Nasty Plot
Baton Pass to Kyurem-White then watch the fun. Astral Barrage's STAB and hits hard with 130 base power. Psyshock for Chansey while Nasty Plot to boost SpA greatly.
That's the team for now. It went pretty good in ladder, currently 1650+ ELO. So, what changes should this team have? I have some questions too:
- Is Excadrill a good suicide lead? It might be a good Stealth Rock setter as well as Rapid Spinner since this team has no Stealth Rocks setter or Defogger.
- Or should I use any other defensive Pokemon? Take a note that defensive Pokemon would act most of the time passive to this team.
Please don't tell me to:
- Rock Polish instead of Aerial Ace. Rock Polish takes a lot of time. For example, when you set-up both Swords Dance or Rock Polish, opponent can Knock off Life Orb or send in Ho-Oh.
Replays:

VS a random AG player
VS a random Ditto spammer on ladder
I will add more replays in future!
EDIT: I replaced Xerneas with Zacian-Crowned, Eternatus with Calyrex-Shadow and Ditto with Kyurem-White.
