I’ve made this team mostly for playing with friends, but to be honest I have no idea of it has any merit outside of that.

Mawile (M) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Def
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Mawile is a Mid to Late Game physical sweeper, usually coming in after Sceptile and Ninetales weaken or KO the Ground and Fire types Mawile doesn’t want to deal with. While Mawile’s intimidate is usually to make switching safer, it can also cushion blows for the rest of the team and prevents a Pokémon that’s still needed from fainting and even allows Mawile to come in on an unboosted Earthquake without risking major damage. The only problem is Mawile can get worn down by the time they mega evolve, so it’s good to have Goodra around by then

Haxorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Dragon Claw
- Psycho Cut
- Shadow Claw

Haxorus has been a little weird, but for the most part they are a fast physical scarfer that can switch into attacks that would normally threaten Mawile and Sceptile and punish for big damage. Close Combat and Dragon Claw are the main go-tos for firepower, and Psycho Cut and Shadow claw provide niche coverage as well as having few resists, so Haxorus isn’t walled immediately when one resist switches in.

Goodra (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 196 HP / 132 SpA / 180 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Acid Armor
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Life Dew

Goodra is our special wall and cleric, able to heal others with Life Dew and patch up their physical defense with Acid Armor. Goodra is a more passive wall compared to Ninetales and Quagsire, though Goodra’s Water-Dragon combination is hard to wall and Sap Sipper allows Goodra to completely negate the Grass Type attacks that Quagsire fears along with being immune to Leech Seed and Spore.

Sunny (Sceptile) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Solar Blade
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Rock Slide

Sceptile is one of the two dedicated lead Pokémon, meant to fire off quick Solar Blades immediately or flinch both foes with Rock Slide. Rock Slide hits the Fire types Ninetales can’t muscle through, and Drain Punch hits the Steels that resist Grass and Rock along with healing Sceptile incase their sash is broken. Sceptile can switch to Quagsire in the back against priority and can act as a safe sac if Focus Sash was used and the team is in a tight spot.

Hestia (Ninetales) (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 148 HP / 132 SpA / 228 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Solar Beam
- Calm Mind
- Fire Blast

Ninetales is the other lead, a bulky special attacker who can support the team with Reflect or boost their special attack and defense to jack up Fire Blast. Solar Beam provides decent coverage although they can’t hit Fire Types for neutral. The defense boosts can help Ninetales thwart the Ground and Rock types that they can’t OHKO, and Mawile’s intimidate also helps their hit taking abilities.

Sir Woops (Quagsire) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- High Horsepower
- Stone Edge
- Toxic Spikes
- Yawn

Quagsire is the team’s physical wall and hazard stacker, forcing switches with Yawn and putting them on a timer with poison. Unaware is probably the better ability pick, but set up sweepers aren’t as much of a problem with Sceptile’s Unburden and Mawile’s Sucker Punch. Quagsire’s job is mainly to switch into strong attacks or special water attacks to recover damage due to a lack of Recover. The lack of Recover is my biggest concern since Quagsire traded it for more coverage to have an offensive presence when they can’t get up T. spikes. Rocky Helmet allows Quagsire to punish weaker priority attacks.

Overall a great sun-centred team. Mega Mawile is simply great for leading and stopping vulnerable sweepers like Minior, but for Haxorus I think it should have run AV if you swap out close combat. A good teambreaker but seems self destructive. The sun pokemon shown are perfect, and seeming as the team is not too bulky Goodra is a good edition. Quagsire is my only issue as no recover and 2 attacks are risky. Either cut high horsepower for recover or switch it out for a trapper. I think a perfect swap would be Dhelmise because is has solid bulk, quite slow but can trap and destroy. 9/10.

Ah, thanks a lot! I knew Haxorus and Quagsire were kind of unorthodox so I’ll take your suggestions for a spin, thank you!
