Alrighty, let's see this.
General thoughts:
I usually don't do this, but upon seeing the composition and set of your team, I started having doubts. First of all, you have an astounding three Booster Energy mons, something usually only found on Hyper Offense teams featuring Screens or Hazards or whatever. Hyper Offense teams back themselves with multiple strong sweepers (and maybe one strong wallbreaker) so even if one faints, more can take its place. However, this is clearly not an HO team, with two defensive mons. This would normally be fine with other sweepers/wallbreakers, however when using Booster Energy, you face a dilemma. If you are sweeping and am getting forced out by priority/anything, you either die and lose one of your scarce sweepers, or you switch and lose your Booster Energy. Either way, Booster Energy spam is not good on a more balanced team. With that being said, Balance is not a good team style at the moment, with Hyper Offense and Stall being quite dominant tat the moment. In order to stick with the triple Booster mons, I'm going to convert this into an HO team as that involves as little changes as possible.
Alomomola: To be honest, Mola fits well with balance. Its slow pivoting allows it to bring in offensive threats easier and allow them to take minimal damage switching in. Problem is, you encounter the same dilemma I mentioned earlier: Booster spam does not fit with Balance. Anyways, back to HO.
Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Aurora Veil
- Encore
- Freeze-Dry
- Moonblast
Absolutely great mon on HO. Screens work well with setup mons like Moon, and just helps the team out in general so they can start recklessly attacking. Encore is to lock in mons that try and setup on Ninetales, which would otherwise be setup fodder. Ninetales can also help with that Gliscor dilemma, even with Tera Water variants.
Roaring Moon: Honesty, this thing is cracked on HO. As an HO main, I speak from experience.
Corviknight: Now to replace this thing with another sweeper. Moth is currently the only Special sweeper (Valiant can't really boost itself), so another special threat would be appreciated. Particularly, I find Enamorous to be quite good. I've used dual Fairy multiple times in the past, and I can saw for sure that now Heatran usage has dipped, dual Fairy is better than ever. Technically it's triple fairy with Aloninetales, but its more or less a suicide screen setter more than anything.
Enamorus (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Contrary
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Mystical Fire
- Psychic
Specs Enamorous is able brute force through many mons early on in the game so the Booster mons are able to sweep easier. Regarding Gholdengo, EP hits it, Mystical Fire hits Balloon Ghold, and the sheer power of Moonblast hits Tera Flying Ghold. When using Enamorous, prioritize on getting rid of mons that get in the way of your sweepers, such as Dondozo walling Moon or Glowking with Moth.
Iron Moth: Yeah this set works, just make sure to time your sweeping attempt well since, nine times out of ten, it can only attempt sweeping once. This is due to 1) Booster, obviously, and 2) Substitute damaging it a bunch and 3) Hazards damaging it for a lot. Tera Grass is better for Moth, as giving it another STAB is more useful as whatever Flying can offer. Grass still resists Ground, still making it a decent defensive typing.
Iron Valiant: Let's put it this way. SD Valiant is quite hard to use, especially if you try the "standard" SD Encore set. Valiant is quite frail on the special side, making it susceptible to revenge killing from the likes of Greninja, or just any priority move in general. That weakness is removed with Aurora Veil, just make sure to attempt the sweep while you have plenty of AV turns left. Mons like Lando can be hard to break through with CC and Knock Off being the only attacking move. Thus, I have a habit of replacing Encore with Spirit Break.
Iron Valiant @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Spirit Break
Tera Dark throws another STAB into the mix in order to more effectively break through mons like Moltres and Toxapex (chipped Toxapex; you ain't breaking through healthy Pex). But yeah, that's standard, apart from the deviation in the last move.
Kingambit: One suggestion: Since HO teams often struggle with opposing offensive threats, Tera is usually used as the default defensive answer to certain threats. In my opinion, Kingambit executes this the best. As Anchor suggested, Tera Flying is a great option on Gambit, as not only you deal with Gliscor better, but you also hard wall most variants of Defensive Tusk, and Offensive Tusk that have Ice Spinner aren't making it past the three Fairies. It can also help against Nasty Plot Gholdengo, which can threaten you late game by outplaying Sucker Punch with Nasty Plot and dealing huge damage with Focus Blast. However, Tera Flying changes that dynamic entirely. I could go on for days about mons that carry Ground/Fighting moves AND get wrecked by Flying Gambit: Valiant, Rillaboom, even chipped Roaring Moon go down to Iron Head after its EQ goes into a now Flying Gambit. All I'm saying is, Tera Flying is good. Consider it.
And there you go, an HO team. I had no idea what teamstyle you were going for at the start, so I just chose the one that best suited most of your existing mons. I hope you have fun using this team!
