Oh god shorthopping on joycons is such a pain, but it is possible. If I'm interpreting it right, you have default controls, barring stick jump (because it sucks), which in that case you can do one of two things: You could either click the jump button (Default is X) really lightly or my preferred way, which is to click X and A at the same time, which would make you do a shorthop aerial.

Overall, it just kind of sucks to use joycons, I'd recommend a pro controller anyways ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

That sounds good! Let me know if you would like any advice or pointers - I was top 10 in SM Monotype back then! I even beat Arken Ciel in their signature Flying-type team back in the days.
