That dream about Mexico reminds me of a dream I had where I was apparently on my own. As I was apparently old enough to move out of my apartment despite not being old enough to do that. So I wandered around a place I'd never been in before, felt really happy because I was on my own, and decided to buy some candy. Because that's definitely the best use of my money that I apparently had. I don't remember much else about it, but it was fun.
