I don't know exactly how freeshop works, but to my knowlege you have to put the game's titlekey and other files into a folder and it'll download and install it. i really would suggest doing it with FBI though. But 3ds homebrew is currently imposible on the current frameware version unless you already have it installed, so if you havent done it yet and you're on 11.4 you can't do it bc nintendo fixed that ****. even on 11.3 iirc you can't exactly do it.
yes, the games work perfectly. no slowdowns (beyond what the game actually does on official copies), no glitches, etc.
But make sure you don't connect to the internet with it bc it might brick your system lol
although i have read on some forums (idk how correct they are) that certain online functions work in some games, i've also read that ninty bricks systems that are detected running pirated software online. idk how true either statement is, but it's p obvious anyway that you shouldnt try to connect, unless you're 8 with no common sense.

 TL;DR:
It works fine, you need titlekeys for freeshop to download games, but it's way better to just download the CIA (ROMs) file for the game and install with FBI. And you can't install homebrew on an unhacked 3ds on version 11.4, but if your 3ds is already hacked or you already have games installed, it'll still totally work after the update.
