As of Gen 8, The type with the least Pokémon would be Ice with a total of 65 Pokémon. An honorable mention would be Fairy, with a total of 74 Pokémon.
The most amount of Pokémon would be Water with a total of 176 Pokémon. A close second would be Normal, with 153 Pokémon.

Actually Ice has the least with 32 Pokémon and Water type with 126 Pokémon . Ghost has 45 Pokémon even Including the leaks ice will only go up to 36 if you count alolan forms .
