Why isn't my Armaldo's Rock Blast being passed down to the bred Shellder?

Question

In Pokemon Pearl, I put a male Armaldo with Rock Blast in the daycare who is also holding an Everstone.
Also in the daycare is a female Shellder.
For some reason, none of the hatched Pokemon have the egg move Rock Blast. Why is this happening?

It does not work because Shellder's egg move isn't Rock Blast in Pearl.

Only in HeartGold and SoulSilver, sorry.
You can do your breeding methods on HeartGold and SoulSilver, and then trade the offspring back. But otherwise, it can't work. Sorry.
