What do both buttons do in Team Flares base do?

I pressed the red one and it activated the machine but would the blue one do the same?

I would have thought it would because otherwise, Team Flare would be too easy to beat.

The blue one would not activate the machine. Either way, even if you did press the blue one, Team Flare would lie to you and use their controller to activate the machine.
