Do you have to defeat/catch Zygarde to get the orbs?

Everyone is right, you DO NOT have to defeat Zygarde to get them, I hav evidence: EXPIRIENCE

You don't need to defeat Zygarde in order to obtain the orb trio, you can battle, capture or Zygarde then get the orbs or vise-versa.

Nope.IGN says that you can collect the orbs and then catch zygarde if you want.
