What does it mean when my Pokemon is interested in another Pokemon's scent?

I recently started playing Pokemon Y. While my level 48, careful nature, male Skitty (named Haru) was about to battle a level 37, Toxicroak, I got a message on my screen that read "Haru is interested in the other Pokemon's scent. Can someone please tell me what this means? Where: Route 4

It simply means you have an affection of 3 in Poke-amie. There are alot of other quotes that might appear when you have that amount of affection and other quotes if you have f.eks, 2 or 4
