Is there a Pokémon Snap remake?

Question

I loved the original.
I never owned it myself mind you, but when I was a kid and went to my best friend house we would play the shift out of his nintendo 64 with that game.
All the secrets were so cool to discover back then, when the internet wasn't around yet.

So I know that around November of last year, 2014, there was a rumor about a remake of Pokémon Snap being planned.

But around here nothing has been said.

Were you guys oversea a bit luckier?
Do you guys know anything about it?

Could you guys imagine how cool it would be if it comes out for the 3ds?
So that you have to look around using your camera to spot them and take pictures of them??
That would be so amazing!

New Pokémon Snap is a 2021 on-rails first-person simulation video game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. It is a sequel to the 1999 Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap. Announced in June 2020, it was released on April 30, 2021.

Nothing has been confirmed according to Junichi Masuda, but he is aware of the rumour's existence and he says that he doesn't want just updated graphics, it needs to evolve itself with a new idea or something.

Basically, nothing has been confirmed but we can only hope.

I really, REALLY, wish it'll turns into a real thing.
The game was just so cool, and a new one for this generation of children would have so much more to offer, thanks to the innovations of technology.
We can only wait and hope for a positive answer.
