Why is it spelled "forme" in Pokemon games?

Question

Deoxys attack forme, Rotom Wash forme.
Why is it like this?
(Note: if the is GFL or how it is spelled in a different language I will hide it, I don't know if it is either one)

"Forme" is a way that Game Freak uses to spell it, to differ out from other meanings (regular form)

Oh, I was told that's just the American way of spelling it...

Both form and forme are correct, the American's could of used this spelling to since Canada/America are within the region. But people in Japan etc., might have a different spelling
