Let's start by saying Belly Drum Charizard in VGC is simply too risky, and isn't worth it either. I would highly suggest using a different set, such as full offense.

(NOTE: I'm not against Charizard-X, honestly it's pretty cool alongside redirection like Amoonguss or Togekiss. Just that this set doesn't cut it)
This is probably the most successful Charizard X team to date.

Essentially it wants redorection and looooots of speed control. Note that he didn't use Belly Drum, but Dragon Dance, as it is almost always the better choice anyways.

So if you REALLY want to use belly drum Charizard X, get rid of flare blitz in favor of fire punch. You already suffer from enough recoil after a belly drum, so using a recoil move isn't going to help you.

As for a partner, a nifty technique is the use of the move rage powder. This move has +3 priority, and it directs all attacks towards the user. The best user of Rage Powder is Amoonguss. With nice 114/70/80 bulk, Amoonguss can take a few hits. Also, Regenerator allows Amoonguss to regain 1/3 of its health for each switchin. Here is an example:

Amoonguss@Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpD
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rage Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Spore
- Protect/Giga Drain/Synthesis

This set capitalizes on Amoonguss' unique movepool. Rage powder offers setup, Spore is a 100% accurate sleep move, Sludge Bomb is stab, and Protect/Giga Drain/Synthesis either provides prediction, active healing, or passive healing. EVs allow Amoonguss ot have mixed defenses, but you can customize this to either defensive or sp. defensive.

Hmm Belly Drum... well Super Train Charizard in the art of Health so he can keep that base HP nice. But a good partner would be a Politoed. Why? Because:

  1. Its a water type
  2. It can do many other things, such as Scald, Hydro Pump and Sunny Day (I think).

If you dont want to go with a Politoed go with a Venasaur. It attacks the opposing Water type with super effective moves like Solar Beam and Power Whip. And even then say it's a fairy type you're against, Sludge Bomb and toxic will possibly OHKO it.

Hope I helped!

I'm sorry, but none of those suggestions are of good VGC standard :<

To top it off, Mega Charizard X doesn't even have a Water or Fairy weakness, you should concentrating more on it's Rock and Ground weaknesses. Venusaur is at best a surprise factor alongside MegaZard X, but it's very underwhelming outside Sun.

And even if you were to run a Politoed without Drizzle (the only ability that makes it viable at all) then why not run something else over it, say Gastrodon? It's better in almost every aspect.
Qwerty,No offense are you just ticked because I was chosen for the Protect question?
Why would I get ticked off o.o? I simply edited that answer, you getting chosen for it has got nothing to do with me lol.

I don't really support this answer, that's all. I found it a bit vague and suggestions a bit wrong.
Ah Ok Well sorry and keep it mind,I just joined -3-
