Is it possible to get the starters of Johto if I wasn't aware of the situation and started Delta Episode?

Birch isn't found on 101, and I don't want to lose my opportunity to having a starter! Thanks for any help! :-)

are you sure? Professor birch always appears right after you beat the elite four.

or do you mean that you flew out of the area before you picked up the starter? If you can give more information about what happened I might be able to help.

after you beat the elite four the moment you come down from your room or leave your house something happens. it could be the start of the delta episode or the handing of a starter from the professor, but no one of these events cancels out any of the others.

note: when birch does have a Pokemon for you you are forced to walk to him as soon as you leave the house, if you walk to rt.101 of your own free will nothing happens.
