By how much does Light Ball increase Attack?

Question

light ball is an amazing item and makes pikachu a lot stronger than usual but I'm curious, by how much does it increase
some say 1.5x, some say it doubles
if I were to use volt tackle which is 120 then would it turn out to be exact 240 base power???

Generations II/III
The Light Ball doubles Pikachu's Special Attack stat. In Generation III, a Pokemon that has transformed into Pikachu will also receive this boost if it's holding a Light Ball.

Generation IV
A Pikachu or Pokemon that has transformed into Pikachu will have the power of its moves doubled. In this case, Volt Tackle has 240 base power.

Generation V+
A Pikachu or Pokemon that has transformed into Pikachu has its Attack and Special Attack stats doubled.

Light ball boost the Atk and SpAtk of Pikachu not the base move power, Volt Tackle will still be 120 power but Pikachu’s Atk and SpAtk stat would be doubled when in battle while holding the item
