Movies take place in a different universe from episodes, never has Ash remembered any part of a movie, and he never will. The movies are just fun extensions of that saga, but hold no ground in the main series.

the only part of the anime where a previous movie is at all mentioned is the sinnoh movie saga, and a bit in Hoppa and the Clash of Ages
