I was wondering if I traded a Pokemon I only had one of for one I don't have, does it still count towards the shiny charm even though I don't have it anymore. (USUM)

Yes, it counts towards your Pokédex, not your total amount of Pokémon in your boxes.

As J Fuseon (Amalgeon) Said, the shiny charm has no relevance to the number of Pokemon you currently own, but the number of caught Pokemon in your Pokedex, So NO, trading will not do anything.

Specifically, trading away a Pokemon won't do anything, but getting a new Pokemon from a trade will count toward the Pokedex. Is that right? I just want to make sure.
yes, that is right
