Is Meganium a good starter in Heartgold?

Question

I picked Totodile and beat most of the game. My Friend bought soulsilver (I have heartgold ) and wants to pick a starter. Help?!

The starter you should choose depends completely on your battle style if you like fast pokemon then you should choose fire types unless you are in hoenn then you should choose Treeko. If you like slow but defensive with high attack choose grass except in hoenn then you should choose Mudkip. If you like pokemon with high defenses or in a couple of cases one defense and one offense then choose water.

Fast= Fire(Ruby,Sapphire,Emerald=Treeko)

Slow, High Defence+Attack=Grass(Ruby,Sapphire,Emerald= Mudkip)

High Defence=Water

I chose Cyndaquil, my bro totodile and my cousin chikorita.
My cousin had to do a new game. Conclusion chikorita is the worst starter.

I struggled with chikorita I normally choose cyndaquil because there is no disadvantages in johto gyms for typhlosion I say hes the best

I chose meganuim the second time I played Soul Silver and that was my best time yet it wasnt hard at all but be careful of the moves you pick for it
