I just do not want to buy a remake just to go to VGC or play on a livestream with a youtuber. Also I am kinda curious
Yes they are, but you have to use Pokemon in USUM that can be legally obtained in SM, for instance I could use a Kartana as it is available in both games, but not a Naganadel as I could only get one in USUM.
