Hi guys, I'm playing Soulsilver. I'm at Goldenrod city now. But to beat gym leader Withney, I have to defeat Milktank - her super strong Pokemon of her. So can you give me tips to defeat her. Thanks alot!

is it weird that Miltank was easy for me in Crystal :/
If you have a Quilava, then you can use either fire blast or a leer flame wheel combination. If you don't, then you can use either a Heracross with rock smash or a Machop.

Since Whitney's Miltank has a great defensive and knowing the move "Rollout", you'll need a Pokemon that knows a Fighting-type move and have a great Attack. Example, if you can teach a Croconaw as a starter a Fighting-type move and a good defensive, that will be OK. Or you can use some stratergy. If you choose Cyndaquil as a starter, make sure it knows the move Smokescreen. Use that move several times, the Miltank's accuracy will be lowered. When the Miltank's accuracy can't be lowered, use Ember. Ember has the chance to burn the opponent, and if you're lucky, you're able to burn it and it's HP and Attack will be lowered. Or if you catch a Mareep and evolves it, first use Thunder wave, then Thundershock it.

I'm pretty sure leer and flame wheel are more reliable than smoke screen and ember.
sumwun is right. And flamethrower would do better than ember, Same with thunderbolt and thundershock.
I'm also pretty sure that the thunderbolt and flamethrower TMs are either unobtainable or overpriced in that part of the game.

Get a heracross and level it up to 19 so it gets brick break. Whitney is EZ with it.

I'm pretty sure that simply having it spam rock smash is even easier than leveling it up to level 19.
It will be easier, but do you really want rock smash on a heracross? Unless you are using it just to be Whitney, It would be a disadvantage for the rest of the game having a weak fighting move.
Does Heracross really need all 4 of its slots before you reach the move deleter?
True. Good point.
