What are all differences between platinum and D/P?

Question

I'm going to be playing through gen 4 soon, and wondering whether to play through platinum or diamond/pearl. the third games are always either very different (B2W2), slightly different but just better (crystal), or noticeably different but not massively (emerald).

So what are all the differences in platinum?

Its kinda like emerald. Some story bits involving Giratina are added.
