Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- High Horsepower
- Play Rough
- Power Whip

Iron Head for STAB. High Horsepower for Fire types, Play Rough for Fighting types, Power Whip for Ground types.

Gen 8 NU

Copperajah @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 92 SpD / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Play Rough
- Rock Slide
- Power Whip

Similar to the other Sheer Force sets, but with a different EV spread and one different move. Iron Head is STAB that gets boosted by Sheer Force. Play Rough is coverage against fighting types and gets a boost from Sheer Force. Rock Slide is for coverage against Talonflame, a Pokemon who otherwise walls you. Power Whip is for additional coverage.

Gen 9 NU Stealth Rock

Tera Type: Dragon / Water / Ghost
EVs: 164 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Knock Off
- Protect / Heat Crash

A Stealth Rock set that utilizes some things Copperajah got due to the DLC. Stealth Rock lets Copperajah setup a hazard that chips opposing Pokemon switching in. Heavy Slam is used for the Steel STAB since Copperajah with Heavy Metal makes this thing quite heavy. Copperajah can learn Knock Off now, which is useful for pressuring Pokemon even more. Copperajah getting rid of items such as Rocky Helmet from Pokemon such as Qwilfish and Sandaconda, as well as Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon who use them makes this metal elephant better than it was before. Protect allows Copperajah to scout the movesets of opposing Pokemon and gives it a free turn of Leftovers recovery. Copperajah gets Heat Crash back, so that move can be used for a coverage move against Pokemon such as Rotom-Mow, Decidueye, and Arboliva. Tera Dragon lets Copperajah resist Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric moves. Tera Water can be used to resist Fire moves without making it weak to Dragon moves. Tera Ghost can be used to turn Copperajah's Fighting weakness into an immunity.

Because Copperajah is one of those Pokemon where it has a massive HP but low defense stats, 252 Special Defense EVs are used to give Copperajah as much special bulk as possible. 76 Speed EVs allow Copperajah to outspeed Arboliva. 16 Attack EVs with Adamant Nature not only gives it a jump point, but it also allows Copperajah's Heat Crash to OHKO Rotom-Mow after taking Stealth Rock damage, which is useful if you use Heat Crash. The rest of the EVs are used in HP for bulk.

I love Copperajah. It's a really cool Pokemon with not a bad shiny, either. Here's what I would go for:

Copperajah @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force / Heavy Metal
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head / Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Stealth Rock / Power Whip

If you're running Heavy Slam, go for Heavy Metal. If you're running Iron Head, stick with Sheer Force. Rock Slide I use for double battles in the VGC 2020 format just to have a rock type move that can hurt flying types. I'll run Power Whip for coverage against Pokemon weak to, say, water. If you're running Stealth Rock, use a Life Orb instead of a Choice Band. It does the same thing almost without being locked into a move.

I'm new to all this making movesets stuff since I've been a causal player for all the time I've been a Pokemon fan, so if anyone has any suggestions they'd like to make to improve my Copperajah set, that would be perfect.

  • Heavy Slam: STAB, with Heavy Metal, it's is the heaviest Pokemon.
  • Heat Crash: Strong with his weight.
  • Earthquake: Strong move, accurate, and covers some types.
  • Stone Edge / Outrage: Both strong, whichever you prefer.

Gen 9 NU Stealth Rock

EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD or 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant / Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Superpower / Earthquake
- Whirlwind

A Stealth Rock set for Gen 9 NU. Just like Gen 8 NU, Copperajah makes for a good Steel-type that can setup Stealth Rock(Quite a shame it lost good coverage moves in Heat Crash and Power Whip). Stealth Rock chips opposing Pokemon switching in. Heavy Slam is used for Copperajah's STAB move, since Heavy Metal doubles Copperajah's already high weight. Superpower or Earthquake allows Copperajah to deal super effective damage to opposing Steel-types. Whirlwind allows Copperajah to force setup sweepers such as Oricorio, Venomoth, Calm Mind Vaporeon, and Frosmoth off of the field. Tera Flying allows Copperajah to have a Ground immunity, a Fire nuetrality, and a resistance to Fighting-type moves.

Leftovers is used to give Copperajah some HP recovery. The EV spread you use is up to your preference. The EV spread of 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD with Adamant Nature allows Copperajah to hit slightly harder. The EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with Careful Nature gives Copperajah more bulk.

(Ps. this Is my first time posting a competitive set, and I an doing this for Gen 8, not gen 9 because IN S/V they removed heat crash)
First up we have Heavy metal to give great power for heavy slam and heat crash, then earthquake / high horsepower is for coverage. I gave It 252 Def, and SpD because it would boost defence for body slam, or you could go for curse instead to boost it's Def and Atk Further. I gave it careful nature to give it higher spD.

Lagging Tail doesn't benefit Heavy Slam or Heat Crash in any way.
