Does unburden activate immediately?

Question

If for instance unburden activates in a turn where the next Pokemon is supposed to be faster than the unburden Pokemon, which one will go first? Considering unburden boost will make the Pokemon faster than the unburdened

As of gen 8, all Speed changes are applied immediately, so the Pokémon with Unburden will move before any Pokémon with a lower Speed stat after the boost (in gen 7, only base Speed changes from Mega Evolution can alter turn order mid-turn, and in gen 6 and earlier turn order is always fixed at the start of turn and Speed changes only take effect on the following turn).

Comments

Technically speed can change. Only turn order stays fixed. So if a Pokemon raises its speed, then gyro ball immediately starts dealing more damage.
