I was breeding an illumise, and after 2 or 3 eggs, a Volbeat came out! Is this a glitch, or is it supposed to happen?

by
Apparently, it "can produce eggs that contain either Illumise or Volbeat", and Volbeat can do the same.

This is intentional. Volbeat and Illumise are gender counterparts, and as such, either one can produce eggs of the other.

Can nidoran do the same?
Sometimes. Nidoran is complicated: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/280363/

Yeah, it can happen. Volbeat and Illumise are basically the same thing except with different appearances and swapped offenses.

sorry to dive in on someone elses question, but....

i understand your answer, but

do i have to do anything to get the 'volbeat egg' to be a illumise egg?  cause that happened to me, too on emerald :< i didn't expect that...
No, it’s just a random 50/50 chance of getting either.
@ Stephwheel8

it's fine... i found that out :>
thanks, though :>

i'm searching for a mild, tinted lens baby illumise
