Why can't I get the cosmic flip?

I talked to all four roller skaters in Lumiose City and performed the tricks. When I went to the Lost Hotel, I still couldn't get past the gate! Why?!

Cosmic flip is one of the roller skating techniques in XY. It's the final one and can only be obtained after the other four.

The Lost Hotel has two entrances, on Route 15, and Route 16. You can only access the teacher of the cosmic flip from Route 15. Remember that the hotel is like a maze. You could always get to the teacher, but the guard would always prevent you from walking in the room.
