Hitmonlee or Marowak for the Pokemon League in LeafGreen?

I'm having a problem.

Me, playing Leaf Green have a Hitmonlee. Good attack good attacks themselves bad health good level. I find a Marowak. Good attack non diverse attacks good health same level.

Do I ditch my pal or start a new? I'm about to head into league.

Do you have any other fighting Pokemon, ground Pokemon, brick break users, or earthquake users on your team? If no, just use whichever Pokemon has a higher level.

Personally, I would stick with the hitmonlee. Since this is a play through I tend to try and use the Pokemon I have had for the majority of the game. It will feel better to have won the league with hitmonlee rather than a newly picked up mon.
