I think that the gen 8 trio should be called the medival trio, as each represent something from the middle ages. Eturnus is a dragonic beast, the sword legendary is a typical knight, while the shield legendary is a sort of paladin. (i forgot the names of the sw and sh legendaries...)

Neither group has an official name, but each has a fan designation that sees popular use. Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma are commonly known as the Light Trio; Zacian and Zamazenta are referred to as the Legendary Heroes. Eternatus is not part of the latter's group.

Hope I helped!

Light Trio (Bulbapedia)
Legendary Heroes (Bulbapedia)

Not that this is an official denomination, but the SwSh legends all have Dynamax killing moves. : P
well yea I thought it was the light trio too
according to the Pokemon wiki on fandom, the light trio is the name of solgaleo, Lunala, and necrozma, but Z&Z are called the "legendary heroes".
Thanks @Froggyfrogsock. Good excuse to update this answer.
at first I thought you were being sarcastic because you were annoyed. I will pretend as usual that it's just something nice that I don't understand. I can find many stupidly minor things that might possibly be able to apply as errors, though. thanks for changing this one! I'll upvote it because you updated it to my suggestion.

Solgaleo, Lunala and Necrozma's duo is known as the Cosmic trio and Zamazenta, Zacian and Eternatus's trio has no real name but Zamazenta and Zacian together are known as the legendery wolves.

zacian zamazenta eternatus is combat trio
it says so here: https://pokemon.fandom.com/wiki/Legendary_Trio
Read the article. It clearly says that's a fan term for them.
