How does moves like photon gyser interact with mirror coat and counter?

Counters definition is "when hit by a physical move, the user deals 2× damage back". What would happen with a physical photon gyser or shell slide arm and mirror coat? Because they become physical move, but still have that special symbol

Mirror Coat fails against physical Photon Geyser/Shell Side Arm. The base symbol doesn't matter; it's what the attack becomes by means of EVs, natures, and boosts.

Mirror Coat works if Photon Geyser/Shell Side Arm is special.

Counter will obviously fail against any special Photon Geyser/Shell Side Arm.
