Is it a coincidence that some mascot legendary Pokemon's names have the same first letter of their game's names?

Some examples of this are Dialga and Palkia of Diamond and Pearl respectively, Xerneas and Yveltal of X and Y respectively, and Solgaleo and Lunala of Sun and Moon respectively. Is this intentional? Also, why don't some other games have this?

Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, Black/White, Sword/Sheild. Are mascot legends of these games related to the game's name though they aren't the first letters of legends!?

Dialga is derived from diamond.

Palkia is derived from the Japanese spelling of pearl...

These two were very much intentional.

Xerneas comes from the letter X.

Yveltal comes from the letter Y.

These two also seem intentional.

Solgaleo is based off the root sol, the Sun. Lunala is based off luna, the Moon. So those two are probably intentional as well.

Game Freak probably just wanted to correlate the legendaries with the game titles, so they sounded better together. There are of course exceptions, though (Zacian, Zamazenta, Giratina, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza). However, those still relate to the game they represent in some way.

I don’t think it was intentional, these names just make sense. Like what else will you call the sun Pokémon? X & Y were intentional though
