PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Hello. I have been watching a gameplay of Pokémon Black and White. In the very end of the Pokémon League, when Ghetsis has to fight against the protagonist, he says this: "A Pokémon, even if it is revered as a deity, is just a mere Pokémon." And then something like "And what if IT has chosen you?". (Note that "it" is Zekrom/Reshiram.)

This made me doubt, whether ALL Pokémon were considered gods/deities or Ghetsis was talking about Zekrom and Reshiram only. I tried to find answers about this question but I was unable to do so. I tried to go to different wikis and to different websites as well until I found this one. Can you please answer this question with all the necessary details? Also, can you please paste the reference links as well? I would like to know the original Japanese dialogue between Ghetsis and the protagonists as well, because in the Spanish translation it is written "considered", but in the English tranlsation it is written "revered".

Thanks.

The obvious answer is no, and you can get that from the sentence. If all Pokemon were revered as deities, why wouldn't the sentence instead be "even if THEY are revered as deities," the usage of "it" in this sentence denotes that Ghetsis is referring to a specific Pokemon. Furthermore, why would, if all Pokemon were considered deities, be referred to as "mere Pokemon?" That doesn't make a lot of sense.
Thanks for answering me, that was very helpful. By the way, just to be sure, are you referring to this sentence, right?: "A Pokémon, even if it is revered as a deity, is just a mere Pokémon."
Yes, that is what I was referring to.

Thought I might as well add my comment as an answer:
