I think this could be usable in Doubles
Mabosstiff @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Jaw Lock
- Play Rough
- Ice Fang
- Tera Blast
The main way I would use this is by trapping Pokemon, then having its teammates with a good matchup finish it off. Tera Poison to fight fairy types, then to hit them back with Tera Blast, and this lets you also take on fighting Pokemon. Intimidate and Assault Vest can make it tanky, too

Doggy (Mabosstiff) (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Guard Dog
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 4 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
IVs: 31 For All of Them
- Jaw Lock
- Fire Fang
- Psychic Fangs
- Tera Blast

Jaw Lock for preventing foe's escape from super annoying moves like U-Turn. Fire Fang for coverage against bug types. Psychic Fangs breaks stupid reflect, light screen, and aurora veil and is coverage against fighting types. Tera Blast is for coverage against fairies, because it's poison type.
The Tera Type (poison) is so that a fairy type move will no longer be super effective. Furthermore, since poison also resists the other two weaknesses that Mabosstiff has (which are bug and fighting), you can just Terastillize the Mabosstiff and boom, now the opponent's super effective moves just became not very effective.

Gen 9 NU Choice Band

Mabosstiff @ Choice Band
Ability: Stakeout
Tera Type: Dark / Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Play Rough
- Psychic Fangs
- Sleep Talk

Gen 9 NU is in Alpha now, so here is a Choice Band Stakeout set for Mabosstiff. Stakeout makes Mabosstiff essentially have a Pursuit ability, where should a Pokemon stay in, it dies. Should said Pokemon switch out, the new Pokemon switched in is either severely weakened or dead. Crunch is used for Mabosstiff's spammabe STAB move due to the lack of Fairy-types in the tier. Play Rough is useful coverage against Pokemon who Tera into a Fairy-type. Crunch alongside Play Rough is basically all the coverage Mabosstiff needs in the tier. Psychic Fangs allows Mabosstiff to hit Poison-types such as Venomoth, Toxicroak, and Pokemon who use Poison as their Tera type super effectively. Sleep Talk might be wierd on a Choiced set, but it is useful should you get put to sleep from Sleep Powder from Vivillon and Venomoth. And it's like I said earlier, Crunch and Play Rough is basically the coverage Mabosstiff really needs for the current NU meta at the time of this post. Dark Tera is used to boost the power of Crunch, while Fairy Tera boosts the power of Play Rough.

This is a choice scarf set I used on my dark team for monotype!
Also this Pokemon is such a sweetheart in the game.
Good Dogo (Mabosstiff) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Stakeout or Intimidate
Tera Type: Dark / Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs / Wild Charge
- Destiny Bond / Wild Charge
ROLE:
The main role of Mabosstiff here is to be a revenge killer for your team.
TERA TYPE: Tera is banned in monotype at the time of writing this, but if you want to use this in OU or another tier, then this is what I recommend.
-Dark gives more damage on crunch.
-Fairy covers for your weaknesses and gives STAB Play Rough.
MOVESET EXPLAINATION:
-Play Rough is just a good move against other dark types and fighting Pokémon.
-Crunch is Mabosstiff's best STAB option. (and only physical STAB over 70 BP)
-Psychic Fangs is more accurate than Play Rough and removes screens!!
-Destiny Bond can stop Pokémon that you can't do enough damage to that can 1 shot you.
-Wild Charge is a good other option for coverage.
EXTRA STUFF THAT CAN BE USEFUL:
-Without too much Def investment, Mabosstiff is capable of surviving a max attack Mach Punch from Breloom!!
252 Atk Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 0 HP / 20 Def Mabosstiff: 210-248 (69.7 - 82.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
and with intimidate unless you get unlucky, you are 100% living the Mach Punch even from Choice Band Breloom Mach Punch even with no Def investment!
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Technician Breloom Mach Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mabosstiff: 216-254 (71.7 - 84.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Tank dogo!)
-Mabosstiff's biggest weaknesses are faster scarf Pokemon, so be careful against fighting types because some Pokémon like Flamigo like to hold choice scraf. (From what I've seen)
-Enjoy using Mabosstiff!!!
