By using the Nintendo DS's Download Play, a player can send six Pokémon from a Generation IV game to a Generation V game of the same language. The player will then participate in a mini-game in which they must capture the Pokémon using a bow that shoots special Poké Balls.

On the DS and 3DS, there is a pre-installed app called "Download Play" that will allow you to transfer specific data between specific games. With two different DS's one must go to the Poke Transfer Lab in any Gen V game on one, and open Download Play while your Gen IV cartridge is installed in your other DS. Then you can transfer from Gen IV to Gen V.
After that, you can put whatever Pokemon you want to transfer from Gen V to Bank in Box 1 of your Gen V game, and open Poke Transporter. Then your Pokemon will be transferred to Bank, where they can then be transferred to Pokemon Home by clicking the "Transfer to Pokemon HOME" button inside Pokemon Bank. When your Pokemon are in Pokemon Home, they can be directly transferred to your Legends: Arceus pastures.
