Why is level 100 valid in LC?

Question

In the LC Showdown Teambuilder, my Pokemon set to level 100 was valid. This might be wrong, but just asking.

I know Level 5 was originally chosen as it was the original hatching level of Pokemon when LC began

Pokemon in LC must always be at Level 5. This presents some changes from a standard format, such as the way EVs are allocated and how Life Orb and Leftovers interact with HP. This has been the case for every generation LC has existed -- no Pokemon are permitted to be any level but 5.

The Smogon teambuilder will validate any Pokemon at a level other than 5, but automatically change it to 5 at the start of a battle when LC is selected.
