PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

I've noticed while watching clips on YouTube that the Shadow Giratina other people encounter have Giratina's theme, while mine has the regular legendary theme. I have Giratina in the front of my party, but I tried switching it's position in the team and even boxing it, both of which didn't work.

I did see one clip where a guy had Giratina in his party, although not in the front, but I've also noticed that all the clips I've watched are from 2 years ago :/

If I had to guess, there was probably some update that changed the music for some reason. Either that, or the fact that my Giratina is shiny somehow affected the music.

So, is there a logical explanation for this? Or does a specific ILCA employee hate my guts?

Edit: Video of me sending out my shiny Giratina against the origin one while the regular legendary theme plays in the background.

Late question but if someone else has BDSP and hasn't done the fight, can you tell me what music plays when you fight it? I'm in the process of doing it myself but I have a couple shiny hunts I need to get out of the way.
Testing on my own copy of Shining Pearl on update 1.3.0, I still get the Shadow Giratina theme even if I do or do not have Giratina in my party, lead with Giratina, lead with a shiny Pokémon or a Pokémon with a ball capsule equipped. This could be happening specifically because you're playing on Brilliant Diamond or leading with a Shiny Giratina specifically, but I'm not so sure.

Saving and re-entering the game after exiting in front of Shadow Origin Giratina glitches the music out to the regular legendary battle theme. While I don't know what causes this exactly, you've likely been hearing the theme all this time, as you saved in front of the static encounter to shiny hunt for it. Simply saving in front of and then encountering Shadow Origin Giratina will still result in Giratina's normal theme, so reloading the game is necessary.

Here's the video of me reproducing the same results. Note that I was leading with a regular old Bellossom as opposed to a shiny Giratina.

Additionally, you have to save and reload in the room Shadow Giratina is encountered in, not the room where the slate is inserted in. With all my other tests, as well as the one in this video, I instead saved in the area where the Distortion Plate is used to spawn Giratina, which still produced Giratina's theme.

Having Giratina in and out of your party seemingly has no effect on this, as I got the same results with or without it no matter what I did.

(Fish's note: I actually got the idea from this Reddit post that led me to realize the save position mattered. Huge thanks to JATP for testing all this while I was shiny hunting!)
