Can anyone please tell me what exactly is hidden ability? does it mean that Pokemon have a lower chance of having that ability? I cant find it on the internet for some reason.

It’s a rare ability you can only get through certain methods, which varies from game. They’re usually better abilities, but sometimes not.

They were introduced in gen 5 (black/white) and remain in all subsequent games.
thank you everyone, very much appreciated!!

Just to get this off the unanswered list...

A Hidden Ability is a rare Ability that Pokémon normally do not have access to, introduced in Generation V. Most Pokémon encountered in the games will not have a Hidden Ability; but usually, there are special encounter methods where Pokémon can have a Hidden Ability. Certain event Pokémon and special in-game Pokémon may also have their Hidden Ability.

Essentially, it's a special ability that Pokemon normally found in the wild can't have, and are only obtainable through certain methods, listed here. Most Pokemon's hidden abilities are relatively uninteresting, but some are game-changing, such as Zen Mode on Darmanitan, (which allows it to change form) and Protean/Libero on Greninja/Cinderace.

Hope this helps!

I don't believe Regigigas ever had Normalize as its Hidden Ability, only in fan games like PokeRogue.
In short terms, give a Pokémon with its first or second ability an ability patch, so it will have a new one.
That's what I thought.... Never trust a random reddit post

@frog You can also find HA Pokemon in the wild with specific methods without using an ability patch
