I'm coming up on the home stretch of my Platinum Nuzlocke, as I just beat Candice. It was around then that I realized that even though I really liked my Gallade, there wouldn't be many battles in which he'd be needed anymore, The only thing I could really think of would be to quickly take down the rival's Snorlax right before the Elite 4, with a STAB close combat, but then again, Staraptor also has close combat, and I have the fist plate, so that'll pretty much take care of that. I was going through my recent encounters, when I found a promising Sneasel. Now, before, my backup plan for Cynthia's Garchomp, in case my Garchomp couldn't outspeed and OHKO, was to send in Gallade, who knew Ice Punch. But I figured, with a Weavile, who's naturally fast, and has a Naughty nature(+Attack, - SP Defense), Weavile could be a good addition to the squad with natural Ice STAB, a slot free to have an Ice boosting Item (With Gallade I almost always had him have either the Mind or Fist plate), and a decent movepool, and tm/tutor moves available I think I might want to consider swapping out Gallade for Weavile(Already have the razor fang). The fact that it overlaps with Houndoom isn't that big a turn off because they use different Attack stats, so I could then have the option of which one to pick based on my opponent's weaker Defense stat. Plus, as an added bonus, it has a faster growth rate than Gallade, so it'll be easier to train him. The one thing making me cautious is having to EV train a whole other Pokemon. Its a level 34 Sneasel, and my Gallade is level 45, so it wouldn't take too long to get it on par with the rest of the team. What do you think, is this a good decision, or should I stick with Gallade?
For context, this is my current team: Gyarados, Luxray, Gabite, Gallade(The one I'm thinking of replacing), Staraptor, Houndoom.

Even gyarados dd setup against Spiritomb can outsmart Cynthia's garchomp... but if it is a nuzlocke, u can't rely on it...

Gallade doesn't have as good matchups against e4. If training isn't a headache for you, you can try for it....
Are we still allowing team-specific advice for Nuzlockes?
I've posted previous questions about it, recently, and they've all been fine. Did a rule change recently?
This question no longer matters really. I decided to go for it, swapped them, and beat my Nuzlocke. If anyone wants to answer it anyways, in case future Nuzlockers might wonder about which is better between the two, I'd be happy to BA the answer.

I know MimikyuShadow made the decision already, but i'll answer it for other Platinum Nuzlockers.

I would choose Weavile, as you already have Staraptor for Fighting moves and Gallade doesn't learn Close Combat until level 53. Weavile has far better matchups against Lucian in the E4 then Gallade would, and looking at the rest of your team, Ice type moves along with stab would be a good addition just to cover some more niche encounters, (like Dragon types) which would be a powerful counter to Cynthia's Garchomp as well as her Togekiss.

Any other opinions would be appreciated in case I forgot to factor in something.
