Hello everyone, I decided to do White 2 as my next nuzlocke, and I got a Sassy Oshawott as my starter. Since Samurott is a mixed attacker, with a mixed movepool, I'm wondering whether I should only focus on one type of attack stat, (ie. 252 sp. Attack, 252 spe, 4 att), if I should do a split spread, (128 att, 128 sp att, 252 spe), a tank spread with HP being a priority, or what. What do you think would be the best EV spread for Samurott considering its a White 2 Nuzlocke? Or should I just not care about EVs at all?

@JustATypicalPerson, since the nuzlocke hasn't actually gotten far, I was thinking about resetting it for a better nature. If I did, and got something like Modest or Timid, would that change your suggestion for the EV spread? Do you think I should bother resetting for a better nature, or do you think Sassy is already good for Samurott?
I would definitely reset for a different nature. This might seem contradictory from what I said earlier, but one that boosts either Sp. Atk or Speed and lowers Defense or Sp. Def is probably best. A Speed lowering nature can't compensate for Samurott's base Speed stat very well, but as ingame opponents won't be having EV investment themselves, you'll be able to outspeed a majority of Pokémon with a better nature and Speed EVs on your Samurott
Thanks so much for your help! That sounds perfect! I'll try for a different nature and hopefully everything will work out well.
Got a Naive one, but I think I might want a Rash one instead. Which do you think is better? Or am I just overthinking all of this?
I'll post a more in-depth answer sometime soon, but I feel Naive would be best.

EV training normally isn't desirable in a standard playthrough, as it's much more worthwhile and less time-consuming to simply overlevel your Pokémon. In a nuzlocke or any other challenge run that outright restricts this, EV training is still rather tedious, and is only desirable for a long-standing team member, such as your Samurott. However, for a challenge run that requires your Pokémon to be at their best, it is worthwhile to do.

Samurott should prioritize it's Sp. Atk EVs over Attack. Not only is its Sp. Atk stat slightly higher, but its Special movepool of Surf, Ice Beam, and Grass Knot is generally superior to that of Razor Shell / Aqua Tail, X-Scissor / Megahorn, Dig, and Superpower. Swords Dance either requires significant grinding in the Pokémon World Tournament, or waiting until the E4 for it. The only deficit to doing this is Dewott doesn't benefit from getting Razor Shell immediately upon having evolved as much as it would with Attack EVs, but it should be compensated for an easier lategame.

As your opponents won't be having EVs themselves, Samurott should be able to outspeed the majority of opponents will full investment in Speed. If your nature is one that lowers Speed, it's likely more worthwhile to invest in HP instead. If you're willing to EV train however, it's probably worthwhile to reset for a good nature, assuming you aren't too late into the run. One that benefits Sp. Atk or Speed and lowers either Defense stats is best for Samurott. The rest of the EVs can go into the Attack stat.

At level 59, the same level as the Champion's ace Pokémon, Samurott maximizes its stats with 8 Attack, 248 Sp. Atk, and 252 Speed EVs.

I don't think natures are that much of an issue when most Pokemon have no EVs and speed tiers don't exist.
