In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, All non-viable status conditions have been significantly changed due to the new battling style. The most notable is the modification of sleep, turning into "drowsy". This is the only one that had its name changed. Here is a comparison between the effects of Legends: Z-A's status conditions and S/V status conditions:

  • S/V:
    • Burn: The burned Pokémon take 1/8, or 12.5%, of its maximum HP in damage at the end of every turn and the power of its physical moves are temporarily halved. Burning does NOT halve the power of special moves.
    • Confusion: When the Confused Pokémon uses a move, it has a 33% chance to damage itself. The damage is equivalent to that of a 40 power, typeless, physical move.
    • Sleep: The sleeping Pokémon is prevented from using moves for a randomly generated amount of turns between 1 and 3.
    • Frozen: The frozen Pokémon is cannot use moves or items until they are thawed. There is a 20% that the Frozen Pokémon will thaw at the end of each turn.
    • Paralyzed: The paralyzed Pokémon's speed is reduced by 50% and when it uses a move, it has a 25% chance to not work due to the paralysis.
    • Poisoned: The poisoned Pokémon loses 1/8, or 12.5%, of its max health at the end of every turn.
    • Badly Poisoned: The badly poisoned Pokémon will lose health at the end of every turn, starting at 1/16, or 6.25%, of its max health and raising by 1/16 every subsequent turn.

  • PLZA:
    • Burn: The burned Pokémon will lose 6% of its health every 3.5 seconds, as well as a power deduction to physical moves.
    • Confusion: The confused Pokémon will behave strangely in battle, such as not returning to you in a straight line.
    • Drowsy: The drowsy Pokémon's moves have a doubled cooldown time after being used.
    • Frozen: The frozen Pokémon will be unable to move or attack for a limited time. Certain moves will thaw out the frozen Pokémon upon hitting it, a list of which can be found here. Note that this list is probably made for S/V, and if so, it may be outdated for PLZA.
    • Paralyzed: The paralyzed Pokémon's movement speed is reduced.
    • Poisoned: The poisoned Pokémon will lose 5% of its HP every 3.5 seconds.
    • Badly Poisoned: The badly poisoned, aka toxic poisoned Pokémon will lose a base 1% HP every 2.5 seconds, but the damage amount will increase by 1% every time it happens. The damage will presumably reset back to 1% if it is switched out.

How often does it damage you?
idk for the ZA ones I just copied from the Serebii article

EDIT: This GameRant post says about every three seconds but doesn't mention how much:
https://gamerant.com/pokemon-legends-za-status-conditions-effects-explained-cure/#:~:text=roughly%20every%20three%20seconds%2C
Toxic has the same multiplicative effect as in past games. It damages the target at a pretty consistent 3 second interval, but based on my observations I would not call it a hard three-second rule. Though, these observations may be impacted by subtle dips in the game's performance. I'm playing on an original Switch after all.
ok (I just slapped your comment in there)
Are burn and poison damage for SV the wrong way around?
burn and regular poison both deal 1/8 per turn since gen 2.

ok I edited the poison thing for S/V, ty.
Just watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIEc9qXd1_E.
It outlines all the statuses, other similar effects (like Perish Song), *and their effect activation.* Really handy, and I immediately thought of this question when I saw it. Summary (of things not already in the answer):
Burn deals 6% damage every 3.5 seconds
Poison deals 5% damage every 3.5 seconds (and no additional effect - it's just worse than burn)
Paralysis slows only running speed, not cooldowns
Drowsiness doubles cooldowns, but has no effect to running speed
Toxic deals 1% every 2.5 seconds, and increases by 1% every tick
Freeze... well... freezes the Pokemon for a random amount of time, but can be thawed by the same moves as the mainline games e.g. Flame Wheel, but still not every fire move.
Please do watch the video though (if you trust I'm not a hacker) to correct me where I misremembered things.
Ax109 I don't really have time to watch a video rn but I did edit the answer to match what you said, ty!
