Ever since my Poliwhirl founded team ribbit I have wanted to do a team ribbit play through but there are only 2 frog Pokémon in SV and I was wondering which game had the most frogs to use.
I only own a switch 1 so please tell me the game and if it is not on switch also say the froggiest Pokémon game on switch aswell.
Thank you!

Reigonal Dex specifically:

Red, Blue, Yellow have only Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, so 6.

Gold, Silver, and, Crystal have Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, and Politoed, so 4.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald had the entire Poliwag line, but you have to trade to get them in Ruby and Sapphire, and you can't get them before the national dex in Emerald. So technically 4, but not really.

FireRed and LeafGreen have Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, so 7.

Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum have Croagunk, Toxicroak, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, and Politoed. So 6.

HeartGold and SoulSilver have the exact same as Diamond, Pearl, Platinum. So 6.

Black, White, Black 2, White 2 have Tympole, Palpitoad, and Seismitoad. They have 3 each.

And then comes X and Y. Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed. 10!

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are robbed of frogs just like their predecessors. 0.

Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon have Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed. That's 4. Plus Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja can be gotten through Island Scan in the Ultra games. So it could 10, but only in the Ultra games.

Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee have Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath. 6.

Sword and Shield have Tympole, Palpitoad, and Seismitoad. 3.
But with the DLC, Sword and Shield have Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed, Croagunk, Toxicroak, Tympole, Palpitoad, Seismitoad. 9.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed, Croagunk, Toxicroak. 6.

Legends: Arceus has Croagunk and Toxicroak. Only 2.

Scarlet and Violet have Croagunk, Toxicroak, Tadbulb, Bellibolt. 4.
But with the DLC, they have Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath, Politoed, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja. So 14 total.

Legends Z-A has Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Froakie, Frogadier, Greninja. 6

The highest Switch game frog count is... Drumroll, please: Scarlet and Violet w/Teal Mask & Indigo Disk DLC. With 14 total frog Pokemon and 6 fully evolved frogs. But without DLC, it's Z-A, BDSP, and Let's Go.

The highest total frog count game before the Switch, is X and Y or Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, with 10 frogs, and 4 fully evolved ones.

ORAS actually has Tympole, which you can get via the Dex Nav after beating the box legend and getting the National Dex.
The SWSH DLC has the croagunk line.
I was talking about the regional dex, but I guess I forgot Croagunk and Toxicroak in the DLC
In that case, the Tympole line isn't in XY's regional dex, with Palpitoad being found in the Friend Safari, only being obtainable post game unless you trade.

That also technically means DPPt and BDSP don't have the poliwag line, and HGSS doesn't have the Croagunk line, unless you're counting the National Dex for those games.

Also side note, I think it would be helpful to include the locations of each Pokemon, so a potential playthrough is easier to plan.
You can find the Poli line in the Grand Underground in BDSP, but fair on everything else. But I think if I added locations it would make it another 10 paragraphs long.
True on locations.
The poliwag line is obtainable in the Grand Underground only after getting the National Dex, which can be done before the post game, but it requires extra effort.
Also, I know you aren't including Pokemon not in the regional dex, but I think it's worth mentioning that both bulbasaur and greninja can be obtained in USUM via Island Scan on Fridays, with bulbasaur on Route 2 of Melemele Island, and greninja in the Poni Wilds of Poni Island.
Fair, but even so, XY would still be better becuase of the fact that your starter is a frog and the second starter is also a frog. Plus, island scan can be very annoying, but I will add them.
Oh no, I wasn't saying it's better than XY, I agree XY would be better, but I was just mentioning in case someone else wanted to play through USUM with frogs for some reason.
Yeah, I know, I was just saying that as a general fact.
So I SHOULD do sv but only with dlc. Got it!
U are truly a great addition to team ribbit
Thank you, glorious leader!
