Is there a way to approach the wild Fennekin without scaring it off?

Every time so far, it has run as I've climbed the ladder past the Altaria/Noivern. Could be annoying for shiny hunters.

This isn’t really an answer, but I saved first just in case, and I move around the roof the the left of where the ladder leads you, if you scare it off, restart the game, I’d use a ghost type move such as Phantom force, Shadow sneak, etc. I hope this was enough, good luck

If you sneak up past the ladder, there will be these chimneys you can hide behind and knock it out with a Pokemon like zygarde, alternatively talk to branche in magenta sector 2 for a mission for one free one.

The thing is, I was hoping for a more detailed description on how to get up the ladder than 'sneak', as in the description of my question, that's where I've said it runs away at.

I tested several different ways of approaching the Fenikin and I’ve found its best to go up the ladder but rather than then jumping on the roof sneak along the metal edge of the roof
till your on the side with the Alpha Lopuny bellow. Then wait until any question marks above the Fenikin disappear. Once this happens you can jump on the roof and sneak behind the chimney. From there you can either knock the Fenikin out or throw a ball at it. Do keep in mind that even this method isn’t 100 percent effective and I’ve found the Fenikin still runs about 10 percent of the time so you should still save before approaching it.
