How does Pollen Puff work with Protect?

So. Doubles OU. I have a Kingambit at half health and an Amoonguss. You just have an Amoonguss. Trick Room is active, so Amoongusses are faster than Kingambit. Kingambit has Protect, and both Amoongusses have Pollen Puff. If Kingambit protects, it will be safe from your Pollen Puff. But will mine heal it if it protects?

Pollen puff will not heal your Kingambit and the opposing pollen puff will not hurt your Kingambit because Kingambit protected.
