Can you change the nature of an egg by soft resetting?

Okay, so say I have a Darumaka egg that has only a couple more steps to hatch. I save, then my egg hatches. Let's pretend it has a Modest Nature, so I don't want that. I turn of my game and try again, does the nature change?

No, I recently tried this myself. All stats and details about the pokemon are set as soon as you recieve the egg from the daycare man.

You can of course save before getting the egg but that does mean loads of running/cycling to make it hatch. You may as well keep picking up lots of eggs until one of them gets the right nature.
