Mine has the ability Thick Fat. It knows:

Force Palm: STAB, decent power, high accuracy, good chance to paralyze.

Smellingsalt: Decent power, highaccuracy, double damage when foe is paralyzed.

Bulk Up: Increases Attack and Defense.

Arm Thrust: High accuracy, STAB, attack is better with Bulk Up Attack increase.

Trait: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rock Slide
- Close Combat
- Payback
- Facade

Flame Orb+Guts+Facade=Death of the foe. Rock Slide covers Flying types and destroys Bugs resisting Close Combat. Close Combat is powerful STAB, but it lowers Defense and Special Defense. Payback kills Psychics, and with this sumo wrestler's low Speed, kills them pretty easily.

I have a good strategy moveset for my one.First make sure it has good defense and special defense!
Then give it Belly drum, rest, and whatever other attacks you want!
I gave mine substitute and focus punch. If you use this strategy give a chesto berry to haryiama.
If you are doing what I am doing then use them in this order
Belly drum- maximises attack
rest-get all your hp back
then the chesto berry is used
substitute-so you won't get hit when using focus punch!!

Hariyama (M) @ Flame Orb/Toxic Orb

Trait: Guts

EVs: 252 Atk / 172 SpD / 84 Spe

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)

  • Fling/Fake Out
  • Bullet Punch
  • Close Combat
  • Payback

Fling tosses the Flame Orb at an opponent, giving them a burn. It also helps with Hariyama's SpD invesment and excellent HP.
Fake Out can be used to scout and get some free damage though.
Bullet Punch is priority, it's good.
Close Combat is powerful STAB.
Payback hits Ghosts for solid damage.
Toxic Orb is reccomended if you're using Fake Out, and Flame Orb if Fling.
252 Atk EVs max out attack with an Adamant nature to top it off, 84 Spe EVs are to outrun 60 base speed pokes and slower.
Leftovers are tossed into SpD for some extra bulk and combo with Flame Orb if you use that.

This is my moveset:
Earthquake- to deal with lots of different types
Arm thrust- It is fighting type so why not put it? It can hit multiple times.
Stone edge- use to defend from flying type.
Payback- to defend from psychic type.

Hariyama (M) @ Toxic Orb

Ability: Guts

EVs: 252 HP / 252 ATK / 4 SDEF

Adamant Nature (+ATK, -S.ATK)

-Close Combat: (STAB) High Power and reliable

-Bulk Up: Help boost the already incredible attack stat and boost your defense as well.

-HP Dark/Payback: HP Dark to keep them guessing if you're bug or ghost or dark, and Payback just to deal 2x damage to Psychic types

-Ice Punch: To deal with pesky flying types

Since I'm running mine on a trick room set payback isn't of much use so that's why I chose HP Dark over payback.

why toxic orb,  when the pokemon has guts it's better to use flame orb
A burn halves damage dealt by physical moves, something you don't want for hariyama.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -Satk)
- Fake out
- Vital throw
- Fling (Iron ball)
- Bullet punch
You can't really count on this guy's Speed, so Vital throw seemed like the perfect move for him. I didn't choosed Close Combat because of it's Speed and defences (they're too low to take the risk).
Fling helps with Ghost and Psychic types. The rest is pretty obvious I think.

Start off thing with free damage/flinch brought to you by Fake Out (really annoying as well). Set up some Bulk Ups and don't be scared to use protect as many times as you want to if you feel like you need an extra turn of Leftovers. Thick Fat also makes him more survivable. Attack the foe with a 2/3 Bulk Up priority Bullet Punch and murder upcoming victims.

i just caught a wild shiny hariyama yesterday so I have been working on a moveset.
Hariyama
hariyama(PAWS)@ sitrus berry
trait guts
impish nature
evs 126 def/126 spdef/4 atk

fake out for reasonable damage with attack so high and a first turn flinch
belly drum to max attack and recovr with sitrus
close combat cus you can afford to lose defence with evs invested into both and remarkable hp stat
payback so that it can actually affect ghosts and something to beat phychic types and will nearly always go second witn low speed

Here is the moveset I recommend:

[email protected] berry

Ability: thick fat or sheer force

Evs:252 HP/252attack/4spd.
Role: physical sweeper with lots of HP and mediocre defence and sp. defence

Force Palm: good power plus STAB, chance to paralyze
Close Combat: Defense loss doesn't matter, Haryana already has low defence and sp. defence, high damage, STAB. Alternative is belly drum, which is good for killing everthing with bullet punch.
Reversal: takes advantage of hariyama's somewhat easily depleted health, deal INSANE damage when hariyama's has low health ,STAB. An alternative is bulk up, since it adds a boost to hariyama's fairly low defence, and amps up hariyama's awesome attack stat. Another alternative is bullet punch: it has priority and makes up for hariyama' low speed and gives a non-fighting move to use.
Earthquake/ heavy slam:deals with annoying poisons and ghost( non levitating ), high damage. Heavy slam puts hariyama's overly fat sumo body into good use: the heavier Hariyama is than a Pokemon, the more damage h. Slam does.

All attacks makes use of hariyama's awesome attack

Hariyama
Ability: Thick Fat (Need the extra protection)
Item: Silk Scarf (No orbs!, leftovers!)

Moveset:
1. Fake out
2. Force Palm
3. Smellingsalt
4. Heavy Slam

Orbs are just way way too messy. Hariyama doesnt need it. He does not last long enough and if something were to happen; he doesnt need more stress when he is switched into something where things go the way he needs it too, hence the thick fat for extra protection; its the best we can do. Reason for silk scarf is to boost his fake out and smellingsalt. Hariyama has low speed and high attack so lets use that to the advantage. Basically, if you use a fake out against Hariyamas rivals (psychics, which mostly notorious for low physical def), fake out will k.o. them. For whatever reason they wouldnt, heavy slam them or smellingsalt them. They will surely faint on the 2nd hit. Although it should never come to that with psychics, hence the silk scarf combo. Smellingsalt + force palm combo to do extra damage. Heavy slam to deal with ghosts as they are immune to fighting and normal.

Choice Specs or Life Orb is necessary due to its poor SpA stat.
Focus Blast is STAB with a Sheer Force boost. Surf is a decent coverage move. Mud-Slap is boosted by Sheer Force, but would be outclassed by HP Ground. Vacuum wave is STAB priority. HP Electric or Ice is coverage.

Troll Hariyama

Hariyama @ Binding Band / Grip Claw / Chesto Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD or 252 HP / 92 Def / 4 SpA / 160 SpD
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk) or Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Whirlpool
- Mud-Slap / Toxic
- Snore / Sleep Talk / Attract / Protect / Swagger
- Rest

Thick Fat lets you tank a few more Fire/Ice attacks. The first EV spread + Nature prioritizes damage, while the second gives you higher defensive capabilities.

Whirlpool traps in the opponent (dealing extra damage with Binding Band or lasting longer with Grip Claw). Toxic is best used with a Grip Claw or Chesto Berry, while Mud-Slap is trolly no matter which item you pick. Attract / Protect / Swagger are best if you choose Chesto Berry, but they can be used without one as well. Snore is guaranteed damage while asleep, but Sleep Talk lets you potentially get more Mud-Slaps off. Rest is healing.

Moves:

Heavy Slam (covers 3 types one of them being fairy type, which is one of hariyama's weakness. plus, hariyama is REALLY heavy, making heavy slam a great option).

Cross Chop (i love this move, and it is great for Pokémon with guts. it's not innacurate, 80% isn't at all bad, and with 100 base power and guts it will deal a MASSIVE amount of damage)

Fake Out (gives you a free turn to activate flame orb).

Facade (gets boosted by guts, AND by the attack increase. 140 base power move with 558 atk deals MASSIVE damage).

Guts negates the attack drop of burn, and since we are playing this on GENERATION 7, burn only deals 1/16 of damage. with hariyama's great HP and investment in Sp. Defense, it will (most likely) hung on a special move (alright it can't hung on a moonblast from a maxed out Sp. Atk mega gardevoir, but still...) and then it can attack your opponent with MASSIVE STRONG moves.
