Well, there is only one main reason why they are Banned, which is because they are Overpowered. That means that if you were able to use those Types of Pokemon, they can sweep each Pokemon in every Match and Win the Battle Subway for you with ease.
Note, Eggs are Banned because they cannot be used in Battle.
