I hope I get this right, I haven't answered a question in some time:)

Well from what I know about bide it depends on how much damage your opponent does to your pokemon while using bide.
Bide will do double the damage your opponent did to you bide also lasts for 2 turns I think, so if my shuckle used bide and for example my opponent did 10 damage to me(shuckle has high defense and sp defense), the next turn my shuckle will still use bide(not my choice) and my opponent did 15 damage to me and then on the turn after that my shuckle will release the bide and do 50 damage to my opponent ((10+15)x2=50)(my maths has gotten betterXD) the damage will definately be 50 no matter how much defense your opponent has.(Accourding that shuckle doesn't die...(shuckle has low base hp)

hope it helped, I suck at explaining...

oh, yay!
lolz thanks for the answer

Yes, it is exactly what you said. Extra info on how it works :P

After Bide is selected, the user will be unable to select a move for an idling period of 2-3 turns (chosen randomly), though it will still be able to switch out during this time. Afterwards, Bide will do damage equal to twice the damage received during the idling period. Although Bide is a Normal-type move, type has no effect on the calculated damage inflicted by this attack; thus, Bide does not receive same-type attack bonus. Bide is unaffected by accuracy and evasion modifiers, and can hit Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turn of Dig and Fly. Bide hits Ghost types, although they are immune to Normal type moves.

I hate bide because your target could just set up and cancel the bide out.
