Why can't you trade Pokemon with Event Ribbons?

Question

I tried to trade one of my Pokemon with an Event Ribbon on the GTS but it says i can't trade that Pokemon. Can someone tell me why?

There's not really a why to this question. Game Freak just made it like this. I can't really explain too well. Here's a link: HERE.
