Actually, the fastest way to get eggs is to get a Male Bagon / Shelgon / Salamence with Hydro Pump and a Female Bagon / Shelgon / Salamence with one of the two traded. They must be the same species. In this way, you'll get an a 69.3% chance of an egg. You can do them both with your ID number, which is a lower rate of 49.5%. Or you can replace the female Bagon / Shelgon / Salamence with a Ditto (with a different ID number), and get the 49.5 chance also. These are really the fastest ways.
So, recap:
- Same Species, different ID numbers
- Same Species, same ID numbers
- Different Species, different ID numbers
For all the above, make sure the MALE knows Hydro Pump.
