What just happened in the desert resort?

Question

In Black 2 I was in the desert resort and I was walking in the dark sand and then I encounted a Darmanitan and it had weirld gems surrounding it. They were light green color. The Darmanitan WASN'T shiny. Then it said a wild Darmanitan appeared? What is going on?

Edit again...:the sandstorm cause enough damage that it turned to zen mode:][:

Yes, it is a Zen Mode Darmanitan. But there is more to it than that. You might have noticed that when you caught it it said it had a different OT. Well that is because it is one of N's Pokemon. Those little gems denote one of N's Pokemon.

There is a link on serebii that supports this, but it isn't working.
Also, I just caught one myself.
